St George's Chapel

St George’s Chapel is very popular venue for weddings, including the famous gmtv wedding it has a more modern appearance; with its brightly colored frescoes decorating the interior of the chapel, it is situated on the coast road between Kato Paphos and Coral Bay, fronting the grounds of the St George’s Hotel, and has some beautiful sea views. St. George’s Chapel is available for Anglican ceremonies on Wednesday, Thursday and Fridays, and Catholic ceremonies on Monday & Tuesday, with ceremonies taking place between the hours of 1.00 p.m. and 5.00 p.m. The Chapel can hold up to a maximum of 35 people including the primary wedding party, therefore there is limited space.

The wedding ceremonies are conducted by the Resident Chaplain of the Parish, and Locum Ordained Church of England Priests, the Catholic ceremonies are conducted by Father John, and the service lasts for approximately 40 minutes. The Church takes pride in the delivery of this spiritual ceremony of Holy Matrimony, and offers a caring and personal service to all couples, which includes interviews up to two days before the ceremony takes place. These interviews are with the Priest officiating at the ceremony, to ensure that everything on the day goes without any problems, and is tailored to meet your needs.

For those who would like a catholic wedding in Cyprus you must first proceed with a civil ceremony this can be low key and can be conducted the day before your catholic ceremony with just the bride & groom and two witnesses, this is necessary as only your catholic ceremony is not recognized within the catholic church.
