"Cyprus will adopt the euro on 1 January 2008. A formal letter of application was submitted on 13 February 2007. The final decision was taken by the EU finance ministers (Ecofin) on 10 July 2007 and the conversion rate was fixed at 0.585274 CYP. On May 16, 2007 the European Commission backed by the European Central Bank gave its green light for the introduction in January 2008."

So keep on mind that for those planning to have their Cyprus wedding after the 1st January 2008, all the transactions will be in Euro Currency as the Cypriot Pound will be withdrawn.
